Fachschaft

You have the opportunity to directly influence political processes that directly affect you, namely the university policy developments at LMU – because the Fachschaft, for example, decides where your tuition fees go, ensures the quality of teaching, and study conditions at the institute and university, and ensures fair study conditions for all degree programs, among other things, during the transition to the BA program.

With the Fachschaft at LMU, you have a voice that represents you at the institute, faculty, and university-wide levels – in bodies such as the Faculty Council, the Assembly of Fachschaften, and the Student Contribution Commission. The Fachschaft exercises student participation rights in matters such as course offerings, institute restructuring, appointment or leave of absence of professors, and aptitude assessment procedures.

If you are interested in the political and administrative background at the university, the Fachschaft is the right place for you – we help you find your way in university politics. And it can also be fun to participate in decision-making processes and structures at the university, to negotiate yourself, to launch projects, or to experience and shape major changes such as the transition to the BA program.

However, we can only work well if we know what you think and what wishes you have. Therefore, we appreciate it if you give us a lot of feedback – via email, at the student general assembly, or in the hallway.

The Fachschaft Anglistik can only participate in university political bodies if it has been elected by the students in the university elections. If this does not happen, there will be no official student representation of the English Studies department for a year (until the next university elections). So: go out and vote!
